Takes Madness to bring me Back

I see sadness all around. Looking at this week I am thankful my brother who works near the Marathon wasn’t too close. Had to check in. Now seeing the whole lockdown in the Boston area, you have to wonder how this will end. Madness I tell you.

The Gleaner reports that Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) unveiled its newest campaign “Jamaica Me Happy” at a reception honoring award-winning reggae icon Jimmy Cliff and star of VW’s “Get Happy” commercial, Erik Nicolaisen. The unveiling took place at the gardens of The Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston, Jamaica:

Minister of Tourism Wykeham McNeill expressed his admiration for the promotion of Brand Jamaica through the ad. “As you are aware, the ‘Get Happy’ commercial has been causing quite a stir internationally, with persons expressing differing views about it both in the public media and on social-media platforms. I happen to like the advertisement and support it wholeheartedly, so much so that I encourage everyone to do as it recommends and tap into your inner Jamaican and ‘get happy’,” McNeill said.

McNeill also paid tribute to Jimmy Cliff for his recent Grammy award win for the album, Rebirth. McNeill noted…

Does stand your ground only mean stand your ground if you’re white in FLA? Marissa Alexander’s case seems to prove just that. In 2010, she stood her ground after being assaulted by her ex husband. She Testifies to being trapped in her house by her ex; now here is the kicker. She fired one single shot into the air, which scared her ex husband away. She was then arrested and her “Stand Your Ground” defense tossed out by the Judge. She was scheduled to be sentenced to upto 20 years in April, but has since been delayed because of the George Zimmerman case.
How sad is that reality; a black woman defends herself against a man she had a restraining order against and does not kill him but fires a warning shot and was about to face 20 years.
George Zimmerman followed, or should I say stalked Trayvon Martin, who was in his father’s own neighborhood, and killed him. Then gets out on only $15,000 bail. FLA you just ain’t smelling right, you’re looking awfully dirty.

The Harsh Realities and an Outspoken Realization: Future is starting to look Bright

I have to tell you I LOVE THIS GIRL I wish there were more people like her. She spoke the truth to a T about the condition of the societies we live in. It takes realization to face the facts that we as a world needs to change. she begins “I am Not Tryavon Martin.” But the meat of her story is even more defining of the promise of a great future. I wish others would follow her example and realize some things. This needs to be a reflection of ALL Americans.
